Is permanent makeup really permanent?
It's a cosmetic tattoo, so pigment stays in the skin, but it fades gradually. Most clients come back for a color boost every year or two.
What if I don't like the shape or color?
Nothing is tattooed until you've approved it. You can adjust the drawn shape and the color until you're happy.
Does it hurt?
Most clients describe mild discomfort rather than pain. Jodi will talk through comfort options at your consultation.
How will it look right after my appointment?
Bolder and darker than the final result, which is why gallery photos taken on the day look more intense than healed ones.
Is there anyone who shouldn't have permanent makeup?
Pregnancy or nursing, certain medications, active skin conditions in the area and a history of keloid scarring can affect whether, or when, it's right for you. Jodi reviews your health history and may ask you to check with your physician first.
How should I prepare?
You'll get preparation guidelines when you book. Never stop a prescribed medication without talking to your doctor.
What does aftercare involve?
You'll go home with written instructions: keep the area clean, don't pick at it, and avoid heavy sweating, swimming and direct sun while it heals.
How long does an appointment take?
Most first appointments take a few hours, as the consultation, approving your shape and the procedure happen in one visit. Jodi confirms timing when you book.
How long does healing take?
The surface heals in about a week to ten days. Color looks bold at first, then softens over four to six weeks.
Will I need a touch up?
Most clients do, and it's included: Jodi sees you again after 8 weeks, once your skin has healed, to refine the results.
I already have permanent makeup. Can Jodi work over it?
Often, yes, depending on the old pigment's color and how much remains. Send a clear photo before you book, and Jodi will say honestly whether a refresh, a color correction or removal first is right.
